Our Gift from The Florida Furkids!
Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday. Sorry we have not gotten this on sooner - we have been house bound and having power outages off and on for the past three days due to a huge snow storm!
Mom thinks we have plenty of toys and treats already so she asked for our Secret Paws gift to be a donation of toys and treats for dogs and cats who are homeless.
Our Secret Paws this year was Angel Sniffie and the Florida Furkids from Friends Furever and they were very kind and generous to donate both to the Santa Paws Drive and sent a package of goodies to our local no-kill shelter Brother Wolf Animal Rescue in Asheville, NC. Here is some info about the shelter.
Brother Wolf was initially formed in the fall of 2006 by a small group of volunteers and later incorporated in the spring of 2007. In early 2009, our cat friends joined us, and in June of 2009, we became a licensed shelter. Over the just the next year, we found homes for 1,300 cat and dogs! We are also working closely with Buncombe County, and other animal rescue groups, in a program called "Save a Life" Campaign, whose goal is to end the euthanization of healthy adoptable companion animals in Buncombe County by the Year 2012.
We hope all the kitties and woofies of Brother Wolf enjoy their package. Thank you so much Florida Furkids. Happy New Year from all of us at Cats of Wildcat Woods.
